Accident kills Grants Pass man A Grants Pass resident died and another was seriously injured Thursday morning in a car accident in Grants Pass. Jack Harrington, 82, was dead at the scene of the accident, which happened just after 7:30 a.m. Thursday on New Hope Road near Larkin Road. According to the Josephine County Sheriff's Office, a preliminary investigation showed that Harrington's car drifted over the center line and struck an oncoming car driven by Marilyn Holt, 64. Holt suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Dimmick Campus of Three Rivers Hospital. She was later transported to Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, where she was being evaluated in the emergency room Thursday night. Harrington was not wearing a seat belt.
