Stephen Christopher, 65, died Friday at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center from injuries he'd received three days before, according to a news release from Medford police. Police said Christopher had parked his car and was walking into the north Medford Walmart, 3165 Crater Lake Highway, at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when a full size Dodge truck, driven by 64-year-old Gwedolyn Seifer, hit Christopher as he reached the marked pedestrian crossing, police said. The impact knocked Christopher several feet before he hit the ground. There was no evidence of intoxication, police said. Seifer was interviewed and released. The case has been forwarded to the Jackson County District Attorney's Office for review. The Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team assisted Medford police with the investigation.
