Cop accused in attempted toe-suckings By Chris Bristol CENTRAL POINT � A local police officer is under investigation for possible sex crimes stemming from a bizarre disturbance two weeks ago. Ken Marksbury, a Central Point patrol officer since last year, has been sidelined on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Two women, a bartender at the downtown Corner Club and an employee at a nearby coffee stand, said the off-duty officer accosted them at work and forcibly tried to lick or suck their toes. The attacks were reported only minutes apart on Memorial Day and both women told investigators they had never met Marksbury and did not know he was an officer. Central Point police Chief Mike Sweeny confirmed the story with the Mail Tribune. "That�s consistent with the report that we received," he said. "It wasn�t a consensual act. It was an unwelcome, unwanted advance or request." To date, no charges have been filed. At the request of Jackson County District Attorney Mark Huddleston, the case is being handled by a Douglas County prosecutor, who was out of the office Wednesday and could not be reached for comment. Marksbury could not be reached for comment either.
