Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Advertisement Email Story to a Friend January 15, 2006 Bust nets meth, several arrests An early morning traffic stop Saturday on Interstate 5 turned up more than eight pounds of methamphetamine. Oregon State Police troopers pulled over a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe south of Medford at milepost 18. During the stop, the troopers received consent to search the vehicle. Drug-detection dog Cookie was sent to the scene and "alerted" on the vehicle. The search yielded 8.5 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of between $90,000 and $100,000, officials said. In addition, $12,000 in cash was confiscated by the troopers. The Tahoe’s driver was identified as 27-year-old Bertoldo Orta-Garcia. The passengers were 45-year-old Jose Lopez-Vasquez and 25-year-old Feliz Pacheco. All are from Vancouver, Wash. They were each lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of delivery, manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine. They also were put on immigration holds.
