Ray�s Food Place closes local store Ray�s Food Place owner C&K Market, Inc. has announced its store on North Pacific Highway in Medford will close Thursday. Store manager, Rocky Campbell attributes the closure to "a host of problems associated with the location." "The store has suffered a series of recent setbacks which forced company officials to take this action," Campbell�s press release said. "The location has been hampered by construction around the property associated with the North Medford Interchange project, which has made the store unreachable for many customers." The loss of parking space and confusion over how to negotiate the entrance and exit to the store has also contributed to the store�s inability to sustain business, the company says. C&K owns the property and 42,000-square-foot building and will consider options for its sale or lease following the completion of the interchange construction project. Employees will likely be transferred to one of the six remaining Ray�s Food Place stores in the Rogue Valley. The Pharmacy Express outlet will transfer all prescription files to Ray�s at 126 Pine St. in Central Point, approximately two miles from the store that�s closing. C&K also owns stores in Phoenix, Rogue River, Grants Pass, Murphy and Gold Hill. The company operates 28 grocery stores in Oregon and 20 in California.
