Jessica Ann Howard, 19, of the 3700 block of Harbrooke Road, was driving eastbound when her car struck another at the intersection of Maple Park Drive and North Ross Lane, police said. Howard fled the scene on foot before police and paramedics arrived. The injured woman was trapped in her car and had to be extricated by a Medford Fire Department crew. She was taken by a Mercy Flights ambulance to the Rogue Valley Medical Center for treatment of a broken pelvis, police said. Police found Howard after she’d run through several nearby yards. She was determined to be under the influence of intoxicants. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of failing to perform the duties of a driver and driving under the influence of intoxicants. She was released Saturday morning after posting bail.
