From Ashland to American Idol Mar 09, 2018 12:00 AM A A Ashland native Suriel Hess will appear on the premier of American Idol on ABC Sunday. The 2016 High School alumnus, who performed an original song during the school commencement, now lives in Los Angeles, where his YouTube channel has 125,000 subscribers. American Idol aired on Fox from 2002 through 2016. Its first season on ABC begins at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 11.
