Man accused of child abuse A Medford man was arrested Wednesday, accused of paying a child for sex. Bobby Lynn Southerland, 67, of 722 Broad Street, was arrested after detectives served a search warrant at his house at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. He was lodged in the Jackson County jail on charges of first-degree sodomy, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, and prostitution. He's being held on $3,012,000 bail. Medford police alleged that Southerland sexually abused an 11-year-old boy over the summer whom he knew. He allegedly paid the child after the sexual contacts.
