Mae Kathleen Quaccia Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Mar. 1, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Mar. 1, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Mae Kathleen Quaccia passed away peacefully at her home Friday, February 13, 2015 at the age of 93. She was born May 25, 1921 in Mandan, N.D. to William Harry and Rose Murry. In 1943 she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Women's Reserve, and was discharged in 1945 as a Sergeant. In 1946 Mae married John Quaccia in San Francisco. They stayed in the Bay Area raising their six children. She was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and she continued as a member of Our Lady of the Mountain Church in Ashland. Mae belonged to three different hiking clubs and loved finding new places to hike. She enjoyed knitting, reading, working crossword puzzles, and playing mahjong. In 2001 they moved to Mountain Meadows in Ashland. John preceded her in death August 26, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brother Gerald Murry; and sons-in-law, Jeff Matz and James Bell. Survivors include sister, Mary Ellen Fages; brother, Duane Murry; sons, Stephen (Marilyn), William, Robert (Janet), and Ronald (Andrea Tarrantino); daughters, Celeste Bell and Terese Matz; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family is appreciative of the loving care and compassion mom received from the wonderful caregivers and to the Ashland Home Health and Hospice teams. You are invited to join us for a celebration of life from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Mountain Meadows clubhouse.
