"Eagle Point came out fired up," said first-year North coach Bill Jones. "They were ready to wrestle and we weren’t." North Medford’s Ryan Folsom and Chris Platt earned victories at 160 and 171 pounds, respectively, to slow Eagle Point’s sensational start, the Eagles would not be denied as they wound up winning six matches by fall. "We got put on our back a lot," said Jones. "We wrestled completely flat." Five of Eagle Point’s six pins came in the first period, with David James closing in a match-low 35 seconds at 112. Brandon Fennell, Tolga Tokman and Lance Abbott each won two individual events to help the Black Tornado boys slip by Eagle Point, 103-65. Stephanie Cendejas won two events for the North girls in a 132-38 runaway win. Eagle Point’s Kelsey Heider also placed first in two individual events.
