Man robs Peach Street Market at gunpoint

Police are searching for a man who robbed a west Medford convenience store at gunpoint Sunday morning. The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. at the Peach Street Market, 424 S. Peach St. A male suspect, described as a black adult male approximately 6 feet tall with a “medium to heavy build,” according to police, entered the store with a handgun. The man pointed the gun, described in a news release as a black semi-automatic pistol, at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied, and the man fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police responded after store employees called at 8:55 a.m., but they could not locate the suspect. The same establishment was robbed in February, that time at by a suspect wielding a knife who jumped the counter and forced the clerk to disconnect their phone call as they attempted to call 911. The suspect then chased the clerk outside before running away empty handed. Anyone with information about Sunday’s incident is asked to contact Medford police at 541-770-4784.
