Jackson County reports fourth death from COVID-19 By Mail Tribune staff Sep 17, 2020 12:55 PM A A Jackson County Public Health confirmed a fourth death from COVID-19 Thursday. A 72-year-old woman who tested positive for the illness Aug. 28 died Sept. 15, at Providence Medford Medical Center, according to a news release. She had underlying medical conditions, according to the county. Public health officials also reported 14 new cases of the disease, which pushed the local total to 1,007. Of that number, 145 people remain infectious. Seventy-six people have been hospitalized for the disease in the county. The Oregon Health Authority reported 215 new cases of the disease Thursday, raising the statewide total to 30,060. No new deaths were reported by the state.
