> August 28. 2014 6:59PM City officials take Ice Bucket Challenge City Manager Eric Swanson, left, and City Attorney John Huttl joined others throughout the Rogue Valley and the U.S. in taking the ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Ice Bucket Challenge on Thursday. Swanson's aunt had ALS, a degenerative nerve disorder also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, and Huttl's wife is currently battling the disease. Swanson and Huttl had buckets of ice poured over them outside City Hall. Donations to the ALS Foundation at http://www.alsa.org have reached almost $94 million since July.
