No injuries reported in Wimer house fire By Nick Morgan Updated: Oct 25, 2022 10:39 AM A A Grants Pass Fire Rescue assists Evans Valley Fire District No. 6 in a Monday fire to a home in the 500 block of Covered Bridge Road near Rogue River. The abandoned structure was a total loss, and the Oregon State Fire Marshal is still investigating a cause. [Grants Pass Fire Rescue photo] Jackson County Fire District No. 1 assists Evans Valley Fire District No. 6 during a two-alarm fire Monday to an abandoned home in the 500 block of Covered Bridge Road. [Jackson County Fire District 1 photo] No people were injured nor displaced in a two-alarm house fire outside Rogue River that drew firefighting resources from two counties, but the home is a total loss. The structure fire was reported at 8:03 a.m. Monday at 577 Covered Bridge Road, according to Evans Valley Fire District No. 6 Chief Travis Crume. Crume said the fire started in the garage and ultimately progressed across the home. The second-alarm fire drew resources from Rural Metro Fire of Josephine County, Grants Pass Fire Rescue and Jackson County Fire District No. 1. The home was abandoned and unoccupied at the time of the fire, according to Crume. As of Tuesday morning, the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office was still investigating the fire’s cause.
