Butte Falls sweep pair from Paisley Prep volleyball BUTTE FALLS -- Butte Falls moved closer to the Skyline A League Southern Division volleyball title with a doubleheader home victory Friday over Paisley. The Loggers won the opening match 15-4, 15-4, then completed the sweep with a 15-8, 6-15, 15-7 win. The wins gave Butte Falls an 8-1 division record. The Loggers need to win one of their three remaining matches to clinch the championship. Prospect and Paisley, with four loses each, are the Loggers' closest competitors. Butte Falls senior defensive specialist Sara Lawrence excelled in the match. Lawrence served 10 straight points to close out Game 1 of the first match. Lawrence registered team highs in assists (7) and digs (13) for both matches. The Loggers recorded 21 aces in the doubleheader, including 14 in the second match. "Our serving was the difference," Butte Falls coach Mike Harrington said. "Our efficiency was up and we kept them off balance. They couldn't get an attack going." Sophomore Jessica Dunlap was 14-of-15 serving to lead the Loggers in that category, while junior outside Elizabeth McLauchlan sparked the team with 14 kills. PROSPECT 14-15-15, DAYS CREEK 16-8-7 -- At Prospect, Jessica Kraemer and Jenny Lewis each had 10 digs for Prospect in their Skyline A Conference win.
