Challengers tune-up for state in win LOST RIVER -- Don Jenkins went 3-for-4 to lead Cascade Christian to a non-conference tune-up win over Lost River. The Challengers host the No. 2 team out of District 4 on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in first-round Class 2A state playoff action. Lost River travels to take on Santiam Christian, also on Friday. The Cascade Christian pitching staff held Lost River to just one hit and two unearned runs. Both runs came in the fourth inning, when the Challengers committed three errors. Blane Newfield, Nolan Roberts and Kyle Stutzman each had two hits for Cascade Christian, which finished the regular season as the top-rated 2A team in the state at 25-1.
