The 1:46 a.m. robbery Monday was inside the Time Out Sports Bar, 1213 Stewart Ave., according to the Medford Police Department. While there were no patrons in the bar, a single white male wearing a ski mask, gloves and dark clothing entered and quickly confronted the lone woman employee, police said. Advertisement The robber brandished an unspecified type of handgun and demanded cash from the woman, who complied, police said. He then fled out the back door, indicating to investigators that the gunman may have been familiar with the business, police said. "He was in the building just a matter of seconds," Medford police Lt. Mike Moran said. The employee telephoned police, who responded 90 seconds later, Moran said. Officers set up a perimeter around the southwest Medford neighborhood and called in a canine unit, but the dog failed to get a scent, Moran said. On May 9, a woman told police she was attacked from behind in the Time Out parking lot by two men, one of whom had a knife, after she left the bar about 12:13 a.m., police said. The victim struggled with her attackers, who eventually fled after pulling credit cards and $86 in cash from the woman’s purse, police said. Moran said it was unknown if the robberies were related, other than the location. Both cases remained under investigation Monday, Moran said.
