Tri-Cities found far from here In watching the Northwest News on Channel 3, they give weather and other reports for the "Tri-Cities." Which are the Tri-Cities? -- Vivian K., Ashland Keep in mind, Vivian, that it's the Northwest News. And in this case, the Tri-Cities are nowhere near our neck of the woods. The announcers are talking about three Washington cities -- Kennewick, Pasco and Richland -- clustered together where the Columbia and Snake rivers meet in southeastern Washington. As a whole, the Tri-Cities area makes up the fourth largest metropolitan area in Washington. Kennewick, with 44,500 residents, is the largest of the three towns.
