Pheasant Fields Farm: Harvest Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October at the 20-acre farm, located at 1865 Camp Baker Road, Phoenix. Activities include a corn maze, hay rides, face painting, pear shooting gallery, animal display, 10-passenger cow train and country store with local organic produce, handcrafted items, bread, caramel apples, espresso drinks and meal choices. Haunted History Tour: Docents lead one-hour-long tours beginning at 6, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45 and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8, from the Jacksonville Visitors Center, corner of North Oregon and C streets. The walking tours feature stops at historic houses and buildings, stories about people and events from the past and spooky tales of ghostly encounters. Reservations are required. The Nightmare Chamber Haunted House: An elaborate haunted house with an asylum theme fills the Randall Theatre Company's 10,000-square-foot warehouse at 10 Third St., Medford. Horror fans can pass through a twisting labyrinth of terror created by theatrical professionals with carefully designed sets, lighting, pneumatic devices, electronics, props and live actors in a professional-grade haunted house. The house is open from 7 p.m. to at least 10 p.m. Oct. 14-16, 20-23 and 27-31. Admission is $10. Admission using the express line is $15. Puppeteers for Fears: The Southern Oregon theater company will present an R-rated puppet show titled "The Call of Cthulhu" in Ashland and Medford. Parents' discretion is advised. The show is an adaptation of horror icon H.P. Lovecraft's short story about a malevolent, octopus-faced god who slumbers beneath the sea and communicates with humans through their dreams, slowly driving them mad. The show will begin at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 14-15, Oct. 21-22 and Oct. 28-29, at Oberon's Tavern, 45 N. Main St., Ashland. Boogeyman's Bride: The Southern Oregon Historical Society and Crater Renaissance Academy will host Boogeyman's Bride, a lantern-lit, haunted field walk Sunday, Oct. 16, and Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 22-23, at historic Hanley Farm, 1053 Hanley Road, Central Point. Groups depart every eight minutes between 7 and 9 p.m. and are led through corn fields and woods on the farm to learn the deep, dark secret of the Boogeyman's Bride. Based on a classic American folktale, the family-friendly drama is suitable for children as young as 5 if accompanied by an adult. Just Scream Haunted House: Just Scream Halloween presents a haunted house from 7 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 21-22 and 28-29, at 202 N. Central Ave., Medford. The frightful haunted house features a dark world of zombies, ghouls and goblins. Children under age 7 will not be admitted. Kids 7-12 must be accompanied by an adult. Childcare is available. Gold Hill Halloween Haunted House & Graveyard: A two-story 100-year-old haunted house is the setting for family-friendly ghoulish good fun and treats for all ages from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 21-22 and Oct. 28-29, and Monday, Oct. 31, at 504 First Ave., Gold Hill. Tickets are $5 for ages 13 and over, $3 for ages 6-12 and $1 for ages 3-5. Kids 2 and younger get in free. The annual fundraiser benefits the Gold Hill Museum. Call 541-855-1182. Monster Dash: The Monster Dash Run for Education is Saturday, Oct. 29, beginning in Lithia Park in Ashland. Age group winners receive gift card prizes, and all teens and kids receive finishers' medals. The races are chip timed, and costumes are encouraged. Puss 'n Boots Ball: The 25th Annual Puss 'n Boots Costume Ball and Auction is from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland. Tickets are $45 and include dinner and dessert by Quality Catering and dancing to live music by The Rogue Suspects. Additional activities include Halloween costume contests, silent and live auctions and a "Dog Paddle" bidding event to make donations. Dracula's Playlist: The Rogue Valley Symphonic Band presents "Dracula's Playlist" at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, in the Music Recital Hall, 405 S. Mountain Ave., on the Southern Oregon University campus, 405 S. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Music director Dan Kocurek will diabolically lead the ensemble in a spine-chilling array of concert works perfectly suited to the spirit of Halloween. Music includes "Night on Bald Mountain," "Come Sweet Death," "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," "Death and Transfiguration," a "Nightmare Before Christmas" and selections from "Carmina Burana." Tickets are $12, $10 for seniors, $8 for students, or $20 for a family of four with $1 per additional child. Those in costumes receive $1 off. Spookadelic Halloween Funktacular: The fourth annual super-funky dance and costume party for ages 21 and older starts at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. Funk and soul band Orgone kicks off the party. MarchFourth! — a group of 20 musicians, stilt walkers, hoopers and vaudeville-style dancers — will whip participants into a dancing frenzy with an over-the-top spectacle. Singer, rapper and producer Lafa Taylor will close the show with gritty, bass-heavy beats. The event also includes spooky aerial performances and DJ Funkenstein.
