Medford police arrest stabbing suspect Saturday Aug 26, 2017 at 11:25 AM Aug 26, 2017 at 11:25 AM Local reports A California fugitive is being held in the Jackson County Jail after allegedly stabbing a man in the neck in Medford. Christian Andrew Clausen, 40, was lodged in jail on a charge of first-degree assault following the Friday night stabbing. At approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing near the intersection of Franquette Street and East 12th Street in downtown Medford. A 28-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck in front of a home in the 500 block of Franquette Street, then fled from the scene, police and detectives determined. Officers and medical personnel performed life-saving measures and the man was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to the Medford Police Department. Clausen, the suspect in the stabbing, was arrested without incident in the 600 block of East Main Street, police said. Investigators said they don't know yet what caused the alleged attack, but the suspect and victim are acquaintances. Clausen's bail was set at $100,000 for the first-degree assault charge. However, he is not allowed to get out on bail due to being a wanted fugitive from California. He has no-bail jail status on the fugitive charge, according to Saturday jail records.
