Man killed after being hit by car in Eagle Point Tuesday Oct 25, 2016 at 11:19 AM Oct 25, 2016 at 3:59 PM A man died Monday evening after being struck by a car in Eagle Point. On its Facebook page, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department reported William Gary Belknap, 36, was pronounced dead by medical personnel in the 900 block of West Linn Road. The incident was reported at 6:47 p.m. Sheriff's officials said Belknap was in the road when he was hit, but they don't know why. Police declined to release the driver's name but said the driver was a minor. The Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team is investigating. The case will be forwarded to the Jackson County District Attorney's Office when the investigation is complete. Sheriff's department officials could not be immediately reached for additional comment.
