Meghan Jones, 20, suffered head injuries and a broken pelvis in the Saturday afternoon crash. Two other students from the Rogue Valley — Bryan Austad, 18, of Jacksonville, and Brittany Risser, 18, of Medford — also were injured in the crash. They were both treated and released from Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. Advertisement Jones underwent two surgeries on her fractured pelvis at the Corvallis hospital, then was taken by ambulance to Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center in Portland Tuesday afternoon. She was listed in fair condition, hospital officials said. Jones, a 2001 graduate of Phoenix High, competed on the bars during OSU’s last gymnastics season. She has done gymnastics since she was 3, according to past news stories about her accomplishments in the sport. She also helped her stepfather, Ed Mayer, with his campaign for Jackson County sheriff last year.
