Jenefsky, born in Fort Meade, S.D., on June 28, 1935, lived in 40 states but called the Rogue Valley home for 36 years. Retired from the Jackson County Road Department in 1994, Jenefsky was a lifetime member of the Rogue Valley Bowling Association and had served as a volunteer on the Board of Directors since 1969. He also served on numerous local and state committees, was state association secretary in 1994 and most recently was Oregon’s jurisdicitonal representative to the American Bowling Congress. In 1981, Jenefsky was elected to the Rogue Valley Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and eight years later, he was elected to the Oregon State Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ione, three children, 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Advertisement At Jenefsky’s request, there will not be a memorial service. Anyone wishing to make a donation in his memory may do so through the Oregon State Bowling Association, P.O. Box 4201, Medford, 97501. All proceeds will go to the Earl Anthony Scholarship Fund. Klamath Union rolls to girls hoop win over North Valley KLAMATH FALLS — Take away one key ingredient, add 25 turnovers and you have a recipe for disaster, as the North Valley girls basketball team found out Monday. The Knights, without 6-foot-4 post Elaina Renius due to injury, fell behind 25-13 at the half and couldn’t recover in a 51-26 loss to Klamath Union. KU’s Jenny Ritter drilled three 3-pointers en route to a game-high 17 points and the Pelicans limited North Valley to 13 points in each half. Megan McElheran led the Knights (1-2) with 10 points. Whittney Makepeace, the co-Skyline Conference player of the year last season, was limited to just three points. Jordan Hayter boosts Mustangs to win over B-H BROOKINGS — Jordan Hayter scored 21 points and drove the length of the floor for the game-winning field goal as Hidden Valley slipped past Brookings-Harbor in overtime, 80-79, on Monday. Nick Hayter added 19 points and Josh Gotfried went 3-for-4 from the foul line in the overtime as the Mustangs improved to 3-0 on the season. HIDDEN VALLEY (80) — Dillon 11, Gotfried 3, N. Julian places fourth in national cross country meet GREENSBORO, N.C. — Pete Julian placed fourth in the 2003 USATF National Club Cross Country Championships at Bryan Park Golf Club Sunday, coming in behind winner and high school mile legend Alan Webb. Julian is a former Ashland High standout. Webb clocked 30 minutes, 13.1 seconds to edge University of Arkansas’ three-time NCAA steeplechase champion Daniel Lincoln by three-hundredths of a second (30:13.4) in winning the men’s race. David Cullum was third in 30:34.4, and Julian fourth in 30:35.7. Matt Thull placed fifth in 30:41.0. Missy Buttry won the women’s race in 19:59.9.
