Lovelace sparks Spartans' romp Jan 30, 2015 12:00 AM A A Jonathon Lovelace registered a hat trick and the Southern Oregon Spartans amateur hockey team used a six-goal third period to knock out the Seattle Totems 9-2 on Thursday at The RRRink. Mackenzie Wood notched back-to-back scores to start the Spartans’ big third frame in the first match of a three-game series with the Totems (6-27-1 Western States Hockey League). Goalie Kinsey Reed stopped 16 of 18 shots for the Spartans (25-7-1 WSHL) and Johan Lovestrom recorded four assists. Marc Nemec accounted for both Totem scores.
