St. Mary's Brophy named top player The St. Mary�s volleyball team capped off a successful season with senior setter Lani Brophy earning Southern Cascade League MVP honors. Brophy, who helped the Crusaders to a third-place finish at the Class 2A State Tournament, and senior outside hitter Kristen Zielony represented the first team for St. Mary�s with coach James Joy taking coach of the year. Junior Whitney Brookins, who led Cascade Christian to their first ever state playoff appearance, and senior Kelly Clarke also made the first team along with Lost River�s Trisha Gasser and Chiloquin�s Michelle Gambino. Senior Kim Hansen (St. Mary�s) and Kristen Salamone (Cascade Christian) earned second-team honors while third-team accolades went to Jenny Gritsch and Libby Trum from St. Mary�s. Junior Krystle Holtz made third-team for the Challengers.
