Roseburg advances in tourney CORVALLIS - Roseburg Doc Stewarts received a dominating pitching performance to defeat David Douglas 11-0 and advance in the Oregon State A legion baseball tournament. Starting pitcher Andrew Renyer threw four shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out eight. Garrett Tembridge and Josh Riley combined for three shutout innings while allowing David Douglas only one hit. T.J. Kooken went 3-for-4, including a double, with three runs scored and two RBIs. Doc Stewarts (48-5) will play today against the winner of the Klamath Falls/Corvallis Richey's Market matchup. Vernon, Wash., Lauren Maloney pitched a perfect game to lead the Orange County Blaze to a 8-0 defeat of the Rogue Valley Rebels in five innings on Friday. The loss was the first for the Rebels in the double-elimination Western Nationals 12-and-under girls fast pitch softball tourament. The Rebels began the tourament at 2-0 after defeating the Olympia Panthers 9-0 and Angelton Riot, from Texas, 9-7 Thursday.
