The men — 43-year-old Travis Bessonette and 63-year-old Michael O'Neil — were arrested on charges of distribution, possession and manufacture of methamphetamine, according to a news release from the Medford Area Drug & Gang Enforcement Task Force. Bessonette was also arrested on charges of distribution, possession and manufacture of marijuana, possession of heroin and a statewide felony warrant stemming from a post-prison violation. The men are held on bails of more than $1 million each, according to Jackson County Jail records. The agency and Ashland police searched a home in the 400 block of Wightman Street in Ashland around 10 a.m. Thursday. Police served a search warrant following a two-month-long investigation, according to a MADGE release. Investigators found Bessonette and O'Neil in the home, the release said. They also found two ounces of methamphetamine, two grams of heroin and more than six pounds of marijuana, along with scales and packaging, police said. MADGE investigators said neither man is an Oregon Medical Marijuana Program cardholder. Bessonette has several methamphetamine-related convictions in Jackson County stretching back to 2007, court records show. Records also show O'Neil had one felony conviction in 2002 on a drug possession charge.
