Hospital shows documentary on emergency medicine Oct 03, 2014 12:00 AM A A A documentary on Los Angeles County Hospital's trauma department and the plight of overburdened emergency rooms will be shown from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Asante Smullin Health Education Center, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford. It will be the only such screening of the film, "Code Black," in Southern Oregon, Asante officials reported. The movie shows the inside of the hospital's trauma department and looks at how doctors deal with the number of patients in the system. It won "Best Documentary" at the Los Angeles and Hamptons International film festivals. After the film, Asante emergency physicians Lee Milligan and Gary Marks, who both trained in Los Angeles County emergency rooms, will answer questions.
