Eric Stanley Kees Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jan. 21, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Jan. 21, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Eric passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Eric was born February 5, 1956 in Point Heuenme, Calif. and grew up in Medford, Ore. Eric graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1974 where he began his lifetime interest in photography by serving as the school's sports photographer. Eric served for 22 years in the United States Navy, where he traveled the world with postings in such diverse places as Spain, the Philippines, the South Pole and Hawaii. An avid Ham radio operator, Eric maintained friendships around the world. After leaving the Navy, Eric returned to Medford where he had a long career as a microbiologist at the Rogue Valley Medical Center. Eric had a huge heart, and a talent for fun. Eric was close to his brother, Martin, who passed away in 1999. He will be sorely missed by his family, co-workers and friends. Eric is survived by his children, Michelle, Lea, and Bon; his grandchildren, Henry, Erika, and Mason, all of Medford; his mother, Helen Deuel of Cave Junction; and sisters, Threesa (Teddie) Milligan of Seattle, Wash. and Kathleen (Kathy) Mincer of Wilsonville, Ore. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2900 Juanipero Way, Medford, Ore. The church is located off Barnett Road, turn right on Murphy and continue to Juanipero Way.
