Campbell pitches shutout as Comets cruise past Jesuit CENTRAL POINT -- The Crater High baseball team continued to run on high gear Thursday against Jesuit. Casey Campbell made a mockery of Jesuit hitters all afternoon in a complete-game, six-strikeout performance to lead the fifth-ranked Comets to a 10-0 win. The game was halted after six innings by virtue of the 10-run mercy rule. "Campbell threw a great game," said Crater coach Chuck Dominiak. "He only threw about 57 pitches." Campbell put the pressure on Jesuit when he spotted himself and the Comets an early 2-0 lead with a two-run double. Crater duplicated its two-run first-inning performance in the second and third with RBI singles from Ken Strate and Josh Hinojosa. Campbell put the finishing touches on the game when he ended things in the sixth inning with a sacrifice fly. With the win, the Comets improved to 6-0 on the season. Hinojosa led the Comets with a 3-for-3 performance. Robby Williams, Jeremiah Toews, P.J. Pardee and Strate each contributed two hits apiece for the Comets.
