Many students and parents remember how he announced every track meet "It's a beautiful day for a track meet!" even if it was raining or snowing. For many years on the last day of school he would sing "Wimoweh" and taught others how to participate. He was a member of the Ashland Methodist Choir for 57 years, Rogue Valley Harmonizers, "Delusions of Grandeur" quartet, Siskiyou Singers, and the Lords and Ladies Square Dance Club. He loved singing almost everything from opera to comedy; dancing - ballroom, square, and round; water skiing; camping; bird hunting; ping pong; playing cribbage; and watching football. David is survived by his wife, Toby; sons, Paul and John (Tricia); and granddaughter, Jillian. He was preceded by his parents and brother, Maurice (Bud). A big thank you to his doctors and hospice, who were all so good to him. A Christian service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Ashland First United Methodist Church. Pamela Nelson Munson will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to Ashland First Methodist Church, Harmonizers, or Sikiyou Singers.
