The open house will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, in the Jackson County Courthouse Auditorium, 10 S. Oakdale Ave., Medford. There will be stations at which people can ask questions and receive information on safety, infrastructure needs and bicycle and pedestrian areas. Citizens can submit either written or oral comments regarding the county's future transportation plans. John Vial, director of the road department, said in a news release that the plan will address bicycle and pedestrian problem areas in the county, safety and transportation needs associated with an aging population, and ways to align future construction projects with the revenue available. Once the transportation plan has been updated, it must be approved by the county commissioners and will become part of the county's comprehensive land-use plan.
