Fire crews hope to contain blaze outside Cave Junction The Associated Press KERBY -- A fire line as been wrapped around the stubborn Sebastopol fire in the Siskiyou National Forest. The seven 20-person fire crews battling the fire, burning about eight miles west of Cave Junction, hoped to have it contained by 6 p.m. today, said spokesman Dave Wells. The fire has threatened some historic graves and mining cabins, as well as spotted owl habitat. An Oregon Department of Forestry crew has taken over command of the fire from the Forest Service. There was no date projected yet for full control. Reported Sunday evening, the fire is considered to be human-caused but accidental, said spokesman Dave Wells. The cause is under investigation, he said. In addition to threatening brush and trees, the fire is burning in an area containing historic graves and mining cabins as well as northern spotted owl habitat.
