Phoenix-Talent, now 3-1 in the tournament, plays Kennewick, Wash., today at 1 p.m. in a semifinal contest. The winner moves on to the championship game at 6 p.m. Phoenix-Talent, which enters the semifinal contest as the No. 2 seed from the American pool, scored five times in the fifth inning to rally from an early 2-0 hole. Jake Murphy had three hits and two RBIs, while Kory Locken and Andrew George each added two hits apiece. Starting pitcher Neil Emerson teamed with relievers Jae McEvoy and Ryan Robinson to hold Wyoming in check. 15-YEAR-OLD PACIFIC NORTHWEST REGIONAL — At Eagle Point, Clayton Foster had three hits and Jesse Sawyer picked up the pitching win as the Calgary Selects defeated North Washington, 8-2, at The Yard at Eagle Point High. Advertisement Foster, who had been slumping at the plate in recent games, drove in Calgary’s first two runs with a single. North Washington, which suffered its first defeat in tournament play, battled back with two runs in the top half of the fourth. But the Selects countered with five in the bottom half to pull away. In other games on Monday, Klamath Falls beat British Columbia, 8-3; South Washington defeated Montana, 9-1; and Wyoming scored a 3-1 victory over Pendleton. Today’s 10 a.m. semifinal contests pit Calgary against South Washington and Klamath Falls against Wyoming.
