Jackson County reports 34 new COVID-19 cases By Vickie Aldous By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Mar 09, 2022 03:30 PM A A The Oregon Health Authority reported 34 new COVID-19 cases in Jackson County Wednesday and one COVID-19-related death. OHA reported 16 new COVID-19 cases in Josephine County and no deaths. Statewide, OHA reported 470 new COVID-19 cases and 29 more deaths, pushing the statewide death toll to 6,801 since the start of the pandemic. The number of Oregon hospital patients with the virus continues to go down, falling to 270 Wednesday, OHA reported. Hospitals in Jackson and Josephine counties were caring for 39 COVID-19 patients Wednesday, down from 45 Tuesday, according to statewide hospitalization data.
