Sky A honors pile up for Loggers Feb 26, 2003 12:00 AM A A Skyline A League Southern Division boys and girls champion Butte Falls placed two players each on the 2003 all-division basketball first team. Senior point guard Isaac Stephenson and junior post Kelly Harrington received first team recognition for the Loggers boys. The Butte Falls girls had senior forward Amanda Hamilton and junior post Sarah Matthews selected to the first team. Stephenson fueled the Loggers fast paced attack. The 5-foot-5 Stephenson averages eight points, five steals and four assists. He's (Stephenson) the quickest guy you'll see off the dribble, said Butte Falls second-year coach Lance Bruce. Harrington, an undersized 6-1 post, is the Loggers emotional leader. Harrington also paced the Loggers in scoring average (15 points) and rebounding (12). Kelly understands the game so well, said Bruce. He recognizes defenses and can distribute the ball. Hamilton and the 6-foot Matthews gave the sixth-ranked Loggers girls a potent attack around the basket. Hamilton led the team in scoring (16& 189; points) and rebounding (7). She shot 54 percent from the field. Amanda is so active moving around and getting the ball, it opened up everything else, said Butte Falls girls coach B.J. Rodgers. Matthews was slowed by a knee injury midseason, but still managed 10 points and nine rebounds a game. Four-year starter Titus Lockard of New Hope Christian in Grants Pass also garnered boys first-team honors. Division most valuable players for boys and girls went to Brandon Richardson of Paisley and North Lake's Staci Collins.
