Harry "Dale" Goes Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Mar. 6, 2016 at 2:00 AM Posted Mar. 6, 2016 at 2:00 AM » Social News Harry “Dale” Goes, 74, of Ashland, Ore. passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 after a long battle with cancer, at his home surrounded by his wife and daughters. Dale was born in 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Harry and Mary (Foley) Goes. He graduated from Madeira High School and from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in theoretical sociology. In the 1960s, he moved to the west coast spending several years in the San Francisco Bay Area and working in the financial district. Soon after, he discovered horticulture was his true calling and followed this passion to southern Oregon. In Ashland he met Marie and they married in 1980 with Marie’s daughter, Skoshi, by their side. The following year, their daughter, Una was born. Dale owned his own landscaping business, Goes Landscape and Design. He loved the puzzle of a good rock wall and spending time outdoors. Dale was an amateur bird watcher, loved traveling with his wife, and was fond of margaritas. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons Ke’ale and Pueo, reliving his early basketball and baseball ambitions. Dale is survived by his wife, Marie Kimokeo-Goes of Ashland, Ore.; his brother and sister, Gene Goes and Margo Lindahl, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and his daughters, Una Kimokeo-Goes of Salem, Ore. and Skoshi Wise of Ashland, Ore. A celebration of his life will be held in May.
