Search for boy continues Searchers from Jackson County were still looking Thursday night for a 14-year-old boy who had been missing in the Sky Lakes Wilderness area for a full day. Lewis Leroy Warner, 14, of Myrtle Creek, was last seen on Wednesday at 10 p.m. near Bear Lake, where he was on a supervised backpacking trip that included 14 boys and seven adults. About 14 searchers were still looking for him about 10 p.m. Thursday, and many planned to be in the woods all night. If the boy hadn't been found by this morning, a helicopter and plane from the Civil Air Patrol were set to come in, as well as search units from Josephine and Klamath counties, said Sgt. Terry Larson of the Jackson County sheriff's department. Although the Sky Lakes Wilderness area is in Klamath County, the Jackson County sheriff's office is coordinating the search under a joint agreement. If people are lost on a trail that starts in Jackson County, then Jackson County personnel handles the search. Lewis Warner is 5-feet-10, weighs 140 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing desert camouflage pants and a light-colored sweatshirt. Anyone with information about the missing boy is asked to call the Jackson County sheriff's office, 774-6800.
