Steven Jacob Eddy, 22, of Woodcrest Circle, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of third-degree robbery, second-degree theft and second-degree disorderly conduct in Jackson County Circuit Court. According to Eagle Point police, Eddy allegedly was waiting in the customer service area of a Walmart store in Eagle Point Oct. 26 while a woman cashed a $560 check. Eddy allegedly grabbed the money and fled on foot to the parking lot. Two customers chased and caught him, but he allegedly dropped the cash, broke free from the customers' grasp and ran away, according to an affidavit. Eddy was reportedly captured about 25 minutes later on Lorraine Avenue and taken to the Jackson County Jail, the affidavit said. In 2014, he pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of intoxicants, court records show.
