Four new life jacket stations installed along Applegate River By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Jun 14, 2022 01:34 PM A A Four new life jacket stations have been installed along the Applegate River, including two at Cantrall Buckley County Park. [Photo by Jon Cox/Flickr] The Applegate Valley Volunteer Firefighter Association has installed four new life jacket loaner stations along the Applegate River. The stations are at spots where a lot of people go swimming during the summer, according to a post on the Applegate Valley Fire District Facebook page. Two stations have been installed at Cantrall Buckley County Park, and one each at Provolt Recreation Site and McKee Bridge. The stations are stocked with 175 life jackets ranging from infant to adult sizes. Each station has a kiosk with instructions on how to properly put them on and how long jackets can be borrowed. The loaner stations were funded with grant and donation money from A Greater Applegate, Grants Pass Active Sports Club, Ace Fields Home Center and Howard Signery.
