Hayner January 1930 - March 2015 Born in Michigan in 1930, Floyd and his brother were raised by their mother and moved to southern Oregon as children. Drafted into the U. S. Army, Floyd served his country during WWII. He was a loving and loyal husband to Carol Hayner who passed nearly 15 years earlier. Everything he did was for her both living and in her memory. Floyd enjoyed people and animals and was always willing to help anyone. His generosity has been witnessed by many people he held dear to his heart. Bob Ruth states, “Floyd was a great friend for many years and will be missed." Those who know Floyd would agree. Floyd was a manager of the Big Y shopping Center and employed several of our community leaders as young men. He prided himself in helping shape some of their lives. Floyd was also co-owner of the Greatway Shopping Center in Eagle Point, and the owner of the Westwood Market on McAndrews in Medford. Floyd was the author of “Shoplifters I Have Known” an autobiography depicting some of his experiences of his time in the grocery industry. He will be missed by many. Services will be Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Memory Gardens Mortuary at the corner of Bellinger Road and Arnold Lane, Medford, Oregon.
