Medford police arrested Kester Monday night on five counts of first-degree sexual abuse and five counts of first- degree sexual penetration. He was lodged in Jackson County Jail on $10 million initially and he remained there Tuesday night on $500,000 bail after appearing in court Tuesday. Assault — Lefear Tyrone Upshur, 34, of the 400 block of North Grape Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Upshur Tuesday on a charge of felony fourth-degree assault. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Tuesday night on $5,000 bail. Theft — Samuel Kraig Dusenberry, 18, of the 1000 block of Shasta Avenue, Eagle Point. Medford police arrested Dusenberry Tuesday on charges of first-degree theft, first-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree trespassing. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Tuesday night on $11,000 bail. Fire calls Attic fire — 1300 block of Spring Street, Medford. The Medford Fire Department sent four fire trucks and 14 people to a structure fire reported at 10:32 a.m. Tuesday. Within 10 minutes, firefighters had located and extinguished the fire, which was contained to an attic storage space. The fire sent up a plume of smoke seen around town, but little smoke entered the living quarters, Battalion Chief Dan Petersen said. Two of the home’s four residents were home when the fire broke out, and they escaped safely. Petersen estimated damage from smoke, water and fire at between $10,000 and $15,000. Investigators are seeking a cause of the fire.
