COUNCIL TO ACT ON BLUE LEDGE ROAD CONTRACT TUESDAY Tuesday night the contract between the city and the Southern Oregon Traction Co., whereby the city bonds itself for $300,000 to construct a railroad to the Blue Ledge, will be presented by S. S. Bullis for ratification by the council. S. S. Bullis in the contract agrees to a time limit, the kind of rails to be used and guarantees the purchase of the bonds at par. He is to eventually purchase the railroad from the city. Late this week Mr. Bullis received notice that rails could be furnished to him so that he could bind himself to a time limit. This has caused the slight delay. Friday evening the county court met with the city council to discuss a plan whereby the county would construct a highway to the Blue Ledge on railroad grade and then grant a fifty-year franchise to Bullis for its use as a roadbed for the railroad. The plan was declared unfeasible. The county court could do nothing for it until the December budget is made up. This would bring a delay that would prove costly. MEDFORD COMEDY AT STAR SUNDAY The moving picture made in Medford by local talent is ready for showing and promises to be a big hit. The photography, action, etc., is first class. C. E. Gates makes a dandy tramp and does some very funny stunts. He is supported by Lowell Zundel, who plays the woman, and who also does some splendid movie tricks. No doubt this picture, which is the first real movie play to be made in Medford, will prove one of the biggest drawing cards the Star has ever offered. The cast includes Miss Gladys Mumun, Browning Purdin, Gus Newbury, Catherine Sween, Charles Campbell, Miss Marie Gates, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Nedd, J. W. McNerney of Portland, Carl Tengwald, H. C. Behling, J. A. Westerlund, Miss Laura Gates, Dr. Hart, H. A. Latta, Charles Thomas, Fred Mears, Elmer Foss, Chief Hittson, Officer Cady and hundreds of others. This picture will be shown at the Star theater on Sunday.
