She was born in Ashland, Ore. April 10, 1955 to Lynden and Mary Levison. Susie graduated from Ashland High School in 1974. She was employed by Goodwill Industries for a number of years. She was a breast cancer survivor. In 2001 Susie brought home gold and bronze medals in cross-country skiing competitions as a member of the U.S. Special Olympics team, held in Anchorage, Alaska, hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. The event included 4,000 athletes from 75 countries around the world. Susie said it had been an experience that would last her a lifetime. Susie loved to garden and cook. She was a dedicated Ashland Grizzly fan and seldom missed a game until her move from Ashland. In her spare time Susie painted, a gift she shared with her mother, Mary and sister, Lynda. Susie is survived by her sister, Lynda Hinkley (David); brothers, Paul Levison (Barbara), Dennis Levison (Julie), and Mark Levison (Sue); and 23 nieces and nephews, each with a special affection for their Aunt Susie. A Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church, Ashland. The burial will be at Scenic Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
