Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend November 13, 2004 California murder yields further arrests By JACK MORAN Mail Tribune Two more people have been jailed in connection with an aggressive police investigation that yielded the arrests of two suspects wanted in connection with the murder of a Vallejo, Calif., pizza deliveryman. Joseph Solomon Pearson, 18, and Kimberly Leanne Weber, 19, both of the 3300 block of South Pacific Highway are associates of the Vallejo murder suspects, Medford police Lt. Tim George said. Pearson was lodged Friday in the Jackson County Jail on more than $1 million bail, charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery. Police believe he was one of three masked men who broke into a home in the 600 block of Beatty Street in Medford on Nov. 3. A resident of the home reported being beaten and robbed of about $200 by the suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun, police said. Weber was held in jail Friday on charges of delivering, manufacturing and possessing crack cocaine. Bail was set at $25,000. A Medford police SWAT team went to the Phoenix-area apartment shared by Pearson and Weber on Thursday afternoon and arrested murder suspects Kenneth Lelan Bell, 16, and Robert Allen Nelson Jr., 21, both of Vallejo. George said the pair frequented the apartment recently. Advertisement Bell and Nelson are among six arrested in connection with the Oct. 25 shooting death of a 19-year-old pizza deliveryman in Vallejo. Medford police believe Nelson took part in the Beatty Street home-invasion robbery. The third suspected robber, Anthony Joseph Jenkins, 20, was arrested Thursday during a separate raid at his apartment in the 2000 block of Table Rock Road in Medford. Jenkins is charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary and was being held in jail $500,000 bail. Nine people were arrested or detained during Thursday’s raids, which involved about 30 Medford officers. "I don’t think we’ve turned over every rock yet," George said. Bell and Nelson were jailed on murder warrants issued in Solano County, Calif. Nelson, who faces robbery charges in the Beatty Street incident, is being held without bail in the Jackson County Jail. Bell is in custody at the county juvenile hall. Both will eventually be returned to California to face charges, Vallejo police said.
