Third time's the charm for North Jan 31, 2008 12:00 AM A A North Medford defeated Ashland for the first time in three tries this season, beating the Grizzlies 3-2 at The RRRink on Wednesday night. Cody Chiverton scored an unassisted goal with 6:51 remaining in the second period to tie it at 2-2 and Nolan Robbins scored on a pass from Rex Bufalino with 1:22 remaining in the second to give the Black Tornado the lead. North Medford goalkeeper Stephen Cole had 19 saves. Ashland added a pair of power-play goals in the first period, the first coming from Kasey Skolnik off an assist from Stephan McLaughlin with 7:50 to play. After North's Trevor Heinsohn tied it at 1-1 with 6:51 to play on an assist by Chiverton, Jack Rasmussen put Ashland in front with 2:03 left on an assist from Josh McLaughlin and Lewis Sebrell.
