According to an affidavit, Tania Marie Boyd, 28, of the first block of West Jackson Street was caught on camera Aug. 11 in the backyard of a residence in the first block of Western Avenue. The back door of the property was reportedly kicked in on that date, and numerous antiques and personal items were reported missing by the owner, a son of the deceased former residents. The affidavit says clear images of Boyd were taken from a police game camera placed in late July in the backyard of the residence. The images allegedly show Boyd in the backyard carrying a large blue bag full of soaps and personal items. Medford police were able to name Boyd as a suspect after placing the images on Facebook. Police located Boyd Sept. 16, and she reportedly admitted to police she was the person in the photographs after being read her Miranda rights. She told police she was accompanied during the incident by a woman she did not know, who told her the house was vacant. Boyd said it was the other woman who kicked the back door in, and Boyd stayed outside while the woman brought out the bag of items. Boyd admitted to police she took the items in the blue bag but claimed she never went inside the house. Boyd was to enter a plea on a charge of felony first-degree burglary at an arraignment Wednesday, but she failed to appear. Court records show Boyd was on probation from a previous incident in January 2014, when she was caught on a surveillance camera burglarizing another Medford residence in the 600 block of South Columbus Avenue.
