Scholarship fund set up for Hammericksen A journalism scholarship fund has been set up at Southern Oregon University in the memory of longtime Mail Tribune sports editor and columnist Randy Hammericksen. Hammericksen, 53, died Thursday morning after suffering an aneurysm Tuesday. A memorial service will be held at 6 tonight at the North Medford High School gym. Donations to the fund should be made out to the Southern Oregon University Foundation, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland, OR, 97520. Donors should indicate they wish the money directed to the Randy Hammericksen Journalism Scholarship.
