A passerby and a neighbor reported seeing flames at 1:33 a.m. at a property in the 1000 block of Gibbon Road, and another person reported hearing two "explosions," said Jackson County Fire District No. 3 spokeswoman Ashley Lara. Fire officials aren't certain of the source of those noises. "It could have been a number of things," Lara said. "We didn't see anything to believe there was anything odd inside of (the RV)." Fire District No. 3 responded with three engines, and Medford Fire-Rescue sent a support engine. Crews found the motor home fully involved, burning about eight feet away from a detached garage. No houses were threatened, and no people or pets were in the burning motor home. The 15 firefighters who responded were able to salvage many of the materials inside the garage. Fire crews spent about 40 minutes extinguishing the blaze. The flames destroyed the trailer and caused some heat exposure-related damage to the garage siding. "Other than that, the structure is still well-standing," Lara said. Fire investigators planned to be back on scene today searching for a cause.
