Alan James Curdy Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jan. 28, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Jan. 28, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Alan James Curdy, 65, of Gold Hill, Ore. passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. Alan was born April 17, 1949 in Oakland, Calif. to Frank and Maxine Curdy. He grew up in Pleasanton, Calif. where he graduated high school and then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam. When Alan returned home, he worked in the metal fabrication trade. He moved to the Rogue Valley in 1984 and continued working until his retirement in 2011. In 1992, he married Sally McCoy. His love of hunting began at a very early age. He also loved his motorcycles and the feeling of freedom he had while riding. He is survived by his wife, Sally; three children, Jamie Glass, Jeremy Curdy, and Colt Curdy; and twelve grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Curdy; sister, Joyce Messa; and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Leanne Caukus. Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.
